Since our first meeting, our collaboration with the delightful team at Chococo has been a fruitful journey. It all began when we received an enquiry from them to conceptualise their Christmas range. Mat, one of our team members, embarked on a visit to their premises. We believe in the power of face-to-face interactions with our clients as it allows us to grasp their workflow dynamics better.
During the visit, it became evident that our assistance could extend beyond the Christmas range. Chococo was investing significant time and resources in purchasing off-the-shelf packaging materials, utilising various materials, affixing labels, procuring short-run digital prints, and even acquiring oversized packaging, necessitating additional packing materials.
Our approach was to streamline their processes. By customising printing solutions tailored to their needs, we standardised their packaging materials. Utilising the same board and opting for lithographic printing not only ensured superior quality finishes for their designs but also fostered brand consistency across their product line.
Moreover, we identified and addressed challenges that Chococo hadn’t recognised. Transitioning from a double straight tuck end carton to a crash lock base was a straightforward yet impactful change. This switch not only saved production time but also streamlined the packing process. With the carton now opening up for packing, the need for manual assembly was eliminated.
Additionally, we tackled issues specific to their chocolate bar packaging, which featured a Maltese cross design. While the carton was secured with a clear disc, the initial fold tended to pop open. By incorporating a clever clasp into the cutter guide, we ensured that the first fold remained securely closed, enhancing the integrity of the packaging.
